Message From The CEO

The development and construction industry slowed down in fiscal 2009, making it an extremely difficult year for us all. This situation, combined with such factors like wildly fluctuating resource prices, has shaken people' s belief in the economy, and the pursuit of economic gain. I believe that future economic activity must be conducted under the constraints imposed by the fact that the earth' s environment has limits. I also believe that, if society as a whole adopts a new sense of values that recognize these additional constraints, we can look forward to a prosperous future.  At LEXELL, we are committed to integrating this new way of thinking, building, and interacting into our business decisions. In doing our part in combating this current economic crisis, we are increasing and reforming the business structure of LEXELL Development as a whole. Our strengths stand in two broad fields: environmentally sustainable building practices, and green construction workforce development. The combination of the two fields, has the capability of helping to change our course of recession.

At LEXELL, we are also expanding our environmental building activities. We are accelerating research and development programs centered on alternative power generation, highly efficient solar power generation, waste management policies and practices, and environmentally friendly deconstruction methods, among other efforts. While working under an environment with limited natural resources, and setting our eyes on the sustainable development of infrastructures, we can create new building habits that have not existed before. Through LEXELL's innovative business approach, we are committed to contributing to a sustainable future. I know that's our mission, and that an approach such as this is in the greater good for us all.

Thank You,

Christian Carter CEO

SW Waterfront Demolition Project

Date: Monday, August 16, 2010, 5:16pm EDT - Last Modified: Saturday, October 16, 2010, 3:37am EDT

Fenty, wearing khakis, a light blue shirt and red tie (his white sweat towel hanging from his back pocket), said the future D.C. waterfront will be "unrivaled anywhere else in the world." Lexell Development LLC will be doing the demolition work, but Fenty kicked it off, taking off a small chunk of the roof.
